Otherwise known as the Battle of Glendale, a village east of Richmond, this battle was the second to last conflict in the "Seven Days Battle" for the Confederate defense of Richmond. The Union forces held off the Confederate forces at Glendale in a rearguard action, as they retreated to Malvern Hill.
